Representative Research Achievements

1. Photosensitizers are administered orally or intravenously, and then activated by semiconductor laser or ultrasound to produce reactive oxygen species (mainly1O2), leading to a series of biological reactions. They can be used in the treatment of cancer, nevus flammeus, fundus macular disease, etc. We mainly screened and optimized photosensitizers, and evaluated their pharmacological activity and safety.

2. Optogenetic technology, one of the greatest innovations in the 20thcentury, is an advanced technological means to study the pathogenesis of mental diseases, especially the changes in neural circuits. The essence of optogenetics is to achieve neuromodulation through light-gated proteins. In recent years, ultrasonic neuromodulation technology has attracted much attention. We aim to create a set of ultrasound-based genetic technologies to find appropriate voice-gated protein or ion channels to realize acoustic gene regulation and make it a new weapon for the treatment of neurological diseases.
